57. 2023-12-15: Prof. Tian (Interim Director of C-QISE at UW) and Dr. Michael R. Norman (Director of the Argonne Quantum Institute) co-hosted the UW-ANL Quantum Materials & Devices Workshop. This online event aims to jump-start the collaboration in quantum science and technology between the two institutions.

56. 2023-12-13: Prof. Tian attended the Quantum Summit 2023, held in San Antonio, Texas, which was organized by Arizonan State University.

55. 2023-12-11: ZhuangEn's paper entitled "Non-volatile memristive effect in few-layer CrI3 driven by electrostatic gating" was accepted by Nano Letters. Good Job!

54. 2023-11-29: Sabin's first paper entitled "Controllable superconducting to semiconducting phase transition in topological superconductor 2M-WS2" was accepted by 2D Materials. Good Job!

53. 2023-11-17: Prof. Tian delivered a physics colloquium at the University of Wyoming.

45. 2023-08-01: The first Quantum Summer School hosted at the University of Wyoming. Prof. Tian is the Organizing Committee Chair.

44. 2023-07-18: Prof. Tian participated in the Princeton-TAMU Summer School on Quantum Physics in Casper, Wyoming, where he also delivered a lecture and met the organizer Prof. Marlan Scully. See here.

43. 2023-06-08: The Tian Lab hosted approximately 40 Native American high school students for an interactive session focused on creating quantum materials utilizing Scotch tape, which is one part of the activities for the Native American Summer Institute (NASI) at UW. See here.

42. 2023-05-16: Our undergraduate student Kayley was selected as a 2023-2024 Wyoming Research Scholar. Congrats!

41. 2023-05-11: NSF announced its regional innovation engines development awards. Prof. Tian is a participant from UW which is part of a team led by Montana State University. The title of this award is NSF Engines Development Award: Advancing quantum and supporting technologies in the Northern Intermountain States (MT, WY, ID).

40. 2023-05-05: ZhuangEn was nominated for Wayne Needy Outstanding Research Awards for graduate students. Congrats!

39. 2023-05-03: We are organizing Quantum Summer School 2023 at the University of Wyoming. Prof. Tian is the chair of the organizing committee. More information can be found here.

37. 2023-02-14: Our postdoc Dr. Sk Riyajuddin joined the Tian research lab. Welcome!

36. 2023-02-10: We organized the kickoff and external advisory board meeting for our NSF ExpandQISE grant. The meeting began with remarks from President Seidel, VP-RED Chitnis, and NSF Program Managers Dr. Tomasz Durakiewicz and Dr. Wu He. Dean Cam Wright and Director of the School of Computing Gabrielle Allen also attend part of the meeting. Throughout the one-day event, PIs from both the University of Wyoming and Purdue University, as well as external advisory board members, delivered invited talks. Additionally, during lunchtime, students presented their posters. This event represents the first step of our effort to build research and education capacity in quantum information science and engineering at the University of Wyoming. The event was a great success!

35. 2022-08-15: Prof. Tian and his colleagues at UW received an NSF grant for research on topological Josephson junctions and developing educational programs in quantum information science and engineering (UW News, NSF News, Superconductor Week). Congrats!

26. 2021-11-23: ZhuangEn's paper entitled "Layer and Material-type Dependent Photoresponse in WSe2/WS2 Vertical Heterostructures" has been accepted by 2D Materials (Impact Factor: 7.103). Congrats!

25. 2021-11-17: Prof. Tian received the A&S 2021-22 Faculty Research and Creative Activity Proposal fund. Congrats!

24. 2021-10-01: Our new paper entitled "A Josephson junction with h-BN tunnel barrier: observation of low critical current noise" is published in Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. It provides a possible way to reduce the decoherence of qubits for potential quantum computation applications. Congrats!

23. 2021-02-05: Our Horiba Raman microscope has been installed and tested in Tian Lab at UW!

22. 2021-01-20: Piumi's paper entitled "Two-Dimensional 2M-WS2 Nanolayers for Superconductivity" is published in ACS Omega! Congrats!

21. 2020-11-26: An ultra-low temperature of 285 mK has been reached using the ICE He-3 probe in Tian's lab.

16. 2020-02-13: Our Oxford TeslatronPT system is online with the capability of achieving +/- 12 T at both 1.5 K and 300 K. 

15. 2019-12-18: Our Oxford TeslatronPT system (with a base temperature of 1.46 K and a magnetic field up to 12T) is delivered to UW.

06. 2018-03: Our work on "Large enhancement of thermal conductivity and Lorenz number in topological insulator thin films" published in ACS Nano is featured in Purdue News.

05. 2018-02: Dr. Tian is selected as an Outstanding Reviewer Award winner for 2017 by IOP.

04. 2017-05: Dr. Tian is now working as a guest researcher at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

03. 2017-03: Dr. Tian attended the APS March Meeting (New Orleans) and presented his work on "Observation of persistent spin polarization in topological insulators". 

02. 2017-02: Our new paper "Observation of current-induced, long-lived persistent spin polarization in a topological insulator: a rechargeable spin battery" was accepted for publication in Science Advances.
